Can you tell me where the village of Vouliarates is? I think it's probably in southern Albania, as my Greek grandparents lived there before immigrating to the US just after WWI. Thanks!

Vouliarates is a small village in southern Albania, not far from Gjirokaster (Argyrokastron in greek). As most of the cities in this area, it has also an albanian name which is Bularat. Vouliarates/Bularat is one of the few cities (4-5, with Dervican/Dhervitsani), in southern Albania where greek is taught at school, because of the important greek speaking community.

vouliarati.altervista.org vouliarati is wonderfull village in south albania, is greek minority in albania! i am from vouliarati. u must be proud for your grand parents home. my mothers grandfother was in usa. he died there.
