| Jersey | Getting to the Channel Islands Posted: Tue June 8, 2004 10:10 AM UTC
just idly considering visiting Jersey over the summer/early autumn.
What are the main airlines that fly to Jersey - Aer Lingus have some flights but it's pricey enough. I don't mind changing planes in the UK. I want to keep the return ticket price to under €150 if at all possible. Are there regular ferries to the other less-known islands from Jersey? Thanks :) O. |

The main airline to fly to the Channel Islands that I know of is Aurigny. We flew to Alderney from Southampton with them and I'm sure they cover the other islands too. Great little yellow planes - a brilliant flying experience and I dont think they are too expensive. We also flew to Guernsey with Guernsey Air from Manchester some years ago.
Re ferries - there are regular boats to Herm and Sark from Guernsey that I've been on and I'm pretty sure there will be same from Jersey.

Both Aurigny and Flybe have scheduled flights to the Islands from Gatwick, Southampton, Stansted and other southern airports. I expect there are also charters operating in the summer.
Condor Ferries operates fast car ferry services from Weymouth and Poole (2 - 2 1/2hours)and they also have a displacement ship(4-6 hours) for passengers, cars and lorries. All the above have websites where you can book online. There are regular interisland air and sea services. If you base yourself in Guernsey you will find the other islands more accessible than basing in Jersey.

I am flying to Jersey from the north east for just over 50 GBP return in May. I am flying with BMI baby form durham Tees Valley Airport but I understand similar flights are available from elsewhere in the UK.
