Any vt knows of any nice residential area in Dali, or in Yunnan, (preferably in Dali) please let me know. Thank you for your time.

The old Dali town is a nice place to reside. Depends on how long you plan to reside there and what type of visa you are on, one could rent a room from the locals. Alternatively, you can get a full apartment in XiaGuan, the prefecture city from 400-700yuan/month, 3 rooms with bath. However, all foreigners could only really rent an apartment and reside in Dali if one has proper residential permit with the PSB.

Thank you so much for the info. I kind of like the old town area too. But I like to know if there are even better places. I will certainly check on XiaGuan. Thanks again.
