Cambodia in November
Posted: Thu September 5, 2002 06:03 PM UTC
I will be in Cambodia. Phonom Pehn, Siem Reip, the week of November 8-15. Would like to know if any VT travels will be there then? What will the weather be like then? Should I make reservations at the guest houses? Thanks

the weather is hot and dry in november.
you wont need to make reservations for guesthouses.
competition is fierce and they are crying out for guests all the time.

I'll be there aboout 2 weeks after you...we could have met up for an Anchor Beer! The weather there won't be as hot and humid as it is during the Summer monsoon season. It should be a few degrees cooler and alot less rain! The first response is right....no need to make guesthouse reservations unless you have a specific place in mind that you must stay at (especially in Siem Reap). Have fun!

Hum... 2 weeks later, does it mean close to november the 20th ? I should be there around this time... Since you seems to know the area, could you telle me about using bus from Bangkok to Siem reap ? DO you feel it to be safe ? Will I have lots of choice, many departures, after I cross the Cambodian border ?
Thank you ;-)
Yvon

I will be in Phnom Penh from 17 to 22 november. Have reserved room at Cafe California Guesthouse. Am not sure if you need to reserve in advance but I did it anyway. Weather should be quite OK in this period, not too much rain as far as I know.

I am afraid I will not be there when you are there. I will be flying into PhoM Penh from Malaysia so I am not sure about the border crossing from Thailand. I thnk you can get tickets on Kaosan RD in Bangkok. From reading other travelers reports the border crossing sounds like it could be a little taxing, and the road in Cambodia might not be so good. I wish I could be more help. Hope you have a good trip.
