There HAS to be some form of cheap accomodation in Sidon !! I can't find any at all - someone help me please....the cheaper the better! Double room

That is wonderful that you are planning a trip to Lebanon. I have never been before, and this is going to be my first trip to the middle east. I am travelling there for academic purposes, so really not business or personal, I will be studying at the American University of Beirut for a month and a half and then for two weeks I will be roaming around the country doing the touristy stuff. So what part of the UK are you from? I am American, living in Washington, DC working on my Masters degree at the American University in Middle Eastern studies. That is great that you have a friend that lives there, because it would be harder to get around and not get ripped off. I know that i will stick out as an American but I will do my best to keep a low profile. So where in Lebanon are you planning on going? I saw your post about Sidon. I have a friend that lives there as well, although I do not have his contact info and i think he went back there already. He is a pHD student at the George Washington University. I also have several friends that live in Beirut. So when are you leaving to go in July? Is it for vacation? How long are you planning to stay? Do you speak Arabic, or fluent Arabic? Hope to hear more about your planned trip.

My name is Adam, and i live in Lebanon.
I dont think that there are hotels in Sidon. Usually tourists take Beirut city as the center for all their tours, due to the short distances. It is better to stay in Beirut and take one day trips to other cities, the transportation is good. For example you can get from Beirut to Sidon for 1500LL (1$).
