cheapest way - walking I guess.

Seriously though - if it's about not spending lots of money then don't go to Nordkapp, you will be disappointed. It is a huge distance to go for very little when you get there. If you like the wilderness then go to the North of Norway but travel round and take your time. The lofeten islands are much better than Nordkapp.

The cheapest is probably to fly via Oslo.

Check Norwegian, Nordic Airlink and SAS for tickets between Oslo and Stockholm. From Oslo fly to Alta with Norwegian or SAS Braathens. From Alta airport you take a bus to Honningsvåg (about 3,5 hours) and then another bus to Nordkapp.

I have to disagree that transportation is so expensive in Scandinavia. That is not true in Norway. The tickets for flights in Norway has become MUCH cheaper than they used to be, especially if you book sometime ahead. Tickets between Oslo and St.holm start at NOK300 and between Oslo and Alta at NOK450. Buses too have become much cheaper and the train now sells tickets for NOK150, no matter how long trip (the 150 kr tickets sell out fast though.)

To go from Stockholm to Nordkapp you can take train from Stockholm to Narvik. Cheapest returnticket cost about 130 USD.

From Narvik you can take bus to Nordkapp, the socalled "Nordkappekspressen". Unfortunately I dont know the price of this bus.

But its a long trip. Only Narvik-Stockholm is about 20 hours...

Check out these pages Train: www.connex.se
Bus: www.Nor-way.no

Good luck !

Jim
