I am coming to Mongolia this summer. It is a dream come true for me. I am hoping to buy a horse there to ride into the northern aimag of Khovsgol. Can help me with info about buying a horse such as price for a good horse, what to look for, etc. Maybe we can meet when I arrive in Tsetserleg.

I think you shoud hire a couple horses with a guide in Hovsogol. Probably, hire is cheaper than buy horses. People said a horse is about 100-150$. How long time do you spend here? if not so long, it is not good idea to buy horses.

Im beginning to organise a horse trek around mongolia, did you have any luck finding out how much a horse cost? Also in terms of food/supplies are they reasonable accessible in mongolia?
