I am thinking of selling up in the UK and moving to Nida in Lithuania what do you think the problems will be. My family and I intend to learn Lithuanian at Klaipeda Uni and I am a lawyer with a little cash.

Fantastic!
I myself have done a Lithuanian language course, but at Vilnius University [www.vu.lt]. I don't know much about Klaipeda University. May I suggest that you might consider buying a apartment in Vilnius and a perhaps place in Nida for the summer. Whilst Nida is a beautiful and lively place in the summer, in the winter it is probably not such a nice place to live. You shouldn't have much of a problem finding work if you speak Lithuanian. There are some international lawyers offices in Vilnius, but I don't imagine there are any in Nida. So to reiterate, my recommendation to you would be to consider living mainly in one of the big three cities [Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda]. Having lived in Britain, you ought to find property remarkably cheap in Lithuania. But I must ask, why have you chosen to move to Lithuania? It's a wonderful decision though and I'm sure you wont regret it.

hi, weather in Nida is definitely better then in Klaipeda, because it is a spit...bad weather passes by and then it rains in klaipeda, anyhow it is not always like that,,,i live in Klaipeda, and the only difficulty that i can find is or are two,,,first one is getting a job in nida, other thin is traveling, because ferries don't work if it is a storm, that sometimes might be a problem, otherwise, don't go to Vilnius (as one of the people suggested) if you want to buy an apartment in Nida that means that you are not a city addict, you could go for Klaipda, it is ok with job and it is not a very big town 200 000 + nida is not far away for rest and it is beautiufle...you can always travel around, there are a lot fo rivers in Zemaitija (reagion of klaipeda and further) in Nida your entertainment will be limited
