Meteora is just a magical place. We stayed in Parga and hired a car and drove over - stayed overnight. The trip from Parga to Meteora was, to say the least, hair-raising - mountain roads, drivers overtaking on bends etc. - yet all this with really beautiful scenery. Meteora is unique. Those naturally formed sandstone pillars are a geological phenomenon and the monasteries perched on top make one wonder how they were ever built. This is a must see place - don't miss it.
