Apart from constant cloud cover, what daytime temperatures are normal, and how cold is it normally at night?

On average, during June and July, the temperatures are the warmest 60-75 for the highs and lows in the 40's - 50s (Farhenheit). August is rainy and cooler with highs no more than 60 and lows in the 40s. Expect rain in all summer months though.

Yes...the temperatures are quite mild that time of the year. I strongly recommend a lot of advance planning -- Denali is very busy in the summer, and the interior of the park is available only by bus (which requires a reservation). Camping facilities near the entrance are also by reservation. It's a very nice place, but there are a lot of people.

You can also go hiking in denali. You can take your own vehicle couple of miles into the park and then hike from there. Its a nice hike, the terrain is tundra and you get to see lots of tarmagins, the alaska state bird. We also saw a red fox which was a treat.

If the sun is out it can be quite warm so bring sunscreen and deet with summer type clothes and also bring rain gear that breathes. My daughter worked there all summer and wore a sweatshirt hoody most of the time and threw on her rain slicker and pants when it was poring. She slept in a tent and sleeping bag rated 20 degrees with a fleece liner and sleeping pad. She's normally a cold sleeper though so you may not need a fleece liner. By the end of August she got some styrafoam insulation and laid that under her bag to keep damp chill from underneath her. I assume you plan to camp. She wore hiking pants that zipped off at the knee, they were the most practical since jeans get too stiff and heavy when wet. Make sure your tent has a rain fly and doesn't leak, also. The weather is variable to the extreme. She woke up to snow one morning. It melted off quickly though. She also developed a nice tan, so don't forget it can be sunny and warm too.
