Treks, etc.

All,
I am interested in talking a 2 or 3 day Trek in Late June. How will the weather be (I know it will probably rain but is it tolerable)? Also, are there specific companies you guys could recommend? Is is cheaper to book there? I have seen it advertized on the web for between $80-$100 for two days/1night.
Can someone reccommend an air carrier from BKK and give me a cost estimate?
Thanks in advance for all replies.

SaWatDeeKhap:

I have gone trekking in late June before, and I thought the weather wes nice. Dry mornings, and some short refreshing rain after lunch normally. It is normally cheaper to book once you get here, especially in June. But, sometimes for the higher priced companies, it doesn't matter if you book ahead of time of withing Thailand. Prices can vary greatly. If you want to do an independent tour with persobnal expert engligh speaking guide and hige quality trekking you can expect to pay the prices you listed, but if you want to just backpack and get out there, you can pay a fraction of that price (literally a small fraction of that price). As for an airline, Thai Airways has like 12 flights a day from Bangkok to Chiang Mai (CNX), it takes an hour and costs about US$100 round trip.

Air Asia (or Asia Air, I can't remember) has flights to Chiang Mai for 500bhat one-way and Chiang Rai for 400bhat one-way. I haven't used them before but people from here said they were reputable. I will use them when I go in June.
