| Portofino | Any recommendations for a budget hotel or B&B along the Italian Riviera? Posted: Mon May 3, 2004 08:34 AM UTC
My husband and I are driving to Florence, Italy, from Clermont-Ferrand, France, where we live, in June. Along the way, we'd like to spend one night along the coast in perhaps Santa Margherita, Portofino or Genoa. Does anyone have suggestions for an "inexpensive" hotel or B&B that allows one-night stays along the way?

The word inexpensive does not go together well with the name Portofino. However, there is a village close to Portofino you can find accommodation without spending a fortune. Its name is Zoagli, it is by the sea, and you have a view of the Portofino harbour from there. Have a look at this website: www.hotelzoagli.it/e/hotel.htm
It's the site of a hotel in Zoagli.
