I am very interested in the School of the World in Jaco, Costa Rica, but would appreciate some outside input. It seems legitimate, but it is hard to tell. If anyone has heard anything or even better, attended this school your response would be very valuable to me.

I don't know of the School of World. I did a study abroad 2 summers ago for 6 weeks with a program ISLS (www.isls.com). The people running the program were very helpful in helping me choose my destinations. I did 2 weeks at 3 different destinations and got 6 hours college credit. Turrialba, Manuel Antonio, and Tamarindo are truely must sees. I was in San Jose for 4 nights total and was not very impressed for long term stay, plus felt like I was going to be mugged half of the time walking around town. We took a trip to the Carribean side one weekend and would say it was not worth it. The bus ride is miserable and it is just not as pretty on that side in my opinion. Best of luck!
