Welcome, I have noticed that you are new to VT. The best advice I can give you is to explore this site. Review the questions and answers from the forums, the travelogues, and the travel pages. You can search by the name of the city or the type of activity, etc. You will find more advice than you can process. Add each item to your "custom travel guide" so you can review it later. Then return to the forum with specific questions.
The more research you do the better you will enjoy your visit. l found the Lonely Planet guide book very helpful. Since a new edition was just published you could buy it now and not expect another edition before your travel. I love Peru, you will too. Bob

I recommend you stay in Paracasx outside Pisco (about 20 minutes) at the Hosteleria Paracas and enjoy a few days on the beach.

Write me if I can tell you more about my trip.

Hi, everything will go well if you don't care about rain, or if you take measures torotect you gainst some rain, because december is the first rainy month in the andes, but not in the whole Peru, as every body think. You will find the beginning of the summer in the coast, the beginning of the rains in the andes, and the first of the high rainy months in the jungle, where you can find a rain any time.

Your route from Lima is excellent, but it won't be a bad idea to analyze this: Lima-Huancayo by bus, Huancayo-Huancavelica by train (the famous "Tren Macho"),Huancavelica-Lircay-Ayacucho in the small interurban vehicles that you will find, and Ayacucho-Cusco by bus. Specially the last section, Abancay-Cusco, is incredible if you travel by day, and you will see it all the ways in your original route.

Greetings from Peru, enjoy my country.

Mario.
