Royal Greenhouses in Laaken

To all my dear Belgium VT Members!

I've read on a Brussels page that the greenhouses are only open to the public during a certain time of the year.

Could anyone tell me when this would be?

Check out www.xpats.be. There is info/links to events in Belgium. Haven't checked this year, but they normally have info about the greenhouses.

you sure have to do it some times! I postponed it too many times myself!
but it is never too late :-)
and twice they have the same flowers but sometimes in the vases and the pots in different compositions.
So I am quite curious for this 3rd time.
and it is always end of April, first week of May something :-)
3,5 weeks I think in total
Because I organised this trip for our personel (52 ppl are coming) I did call to one of the numbers provided on the website to make sure when it is.
It used to be published on the Moniteur Belge/Belgisch staatsblad, but that is electronic now.

well start planning :-)
I go there from 10 am till about noon and in the afternoon we will make a walk through the Haller bos, I hope the wild hyacints and the other wild flowers are blooming next weekend :-)
it is together with the Zonien wood the 2nd oldest wood in Belgium
not that the trees are that old... our Austrian occupiers took care of it that many trees were chopped down and also the German occupiers have chopped almost the entire wood but it grew again :-)
and because of it 's present diversity of trees, andthe youth of the trees, those wild flowers have the chance to grow now.
You should try to combine those two visits in your planning!

have been there once, beautiful
I had a page but I have transfered it to my photo album page at fotki.
But the gardens in Meise you can visit all year through I think, there is always something to see.
I went there in Summer time.
Nice... except for the terrible noise of the highway nearby.
