I am going to drive down to the lake from Munchen. Where should I park and catch a boat to the island?

I used an online mapping service, and see I must take A8, but I don't know which area to get a boat from....any help would be much appreciated! thnx!

I see that most people go to Prien and then on to Stock by train, but I noticed that from Feldwies (right next to the A8) there is a boat dock....does the ferry go from there too?

Hi !

Prien is the most common place to start a cruise to Herrenchiemsee and it also has a big parking for your car.
Most of the boats start there and make a tour to many places around the lake, but most people simply get out at Herrenchiemsee , spend some time there and take another ship back.
