The obvious question , what should we see?
A nice restaurant?
Is there a zoo in the neighbourhood?

Is there enough to see in the city center or should we rent a car?

Saturday 24 april , anything special going on?

Thank you. frank.

I would have never thought of Valladolid as a major tourist destination, but it is pleasant enough to keep you busy for a day, or even two. It is a long time since I visited, but I still remember Valladolid as a smaller, provincial version of Madrid. However, if you have the time, you may find neighbouring cities like Leon, Burgos and especially Salamanca far more rewarding, and therefore hiring a car would definitely be a good idea.

Enjoy.

Hi
I recommend you to stay in Valladolid 2-3 days and the rest for visiting other cities of the region (Castilla y León)

In Valladolid don´t miss the following:
- Museums: National Museum of Sculpture, Modern Art museum "Patio Herreriano", Oriental Museum, Provincial Museum of Valladolid
- Monuments: Churches (San Pablo, La Antigua...), the Cathedral, palaces
- Restaurants: regional gastronomy in "Mesón San Pedro Regalado" (Platerías Street), other good restaurants "La Criolla" in Calixto Férnadez de la Torre Street and "La Parrilla de San Lorenzo (San Lorenzo Street)
- Pubs, bars and discos: there different zones. For example, you can have a cup of wine in Correos Street, beer in Paraiso Street and dance in Coca zone (Martí y Monsó Square)
- Events: april 26 soccer match Valladolid- Mallorca; International Contest of Sculptures of sand in Main Square; exhibition about queen Isabel la Católica in Monasterio del Prado.
- Shopping: Santiago Street and sorrounds

No need car for movements inside Valladolid.
The rest of days you can visit Salamanca, Burgos, Avila, Segovia, towns about 100 km from Valladolid. There are good connections in public transport from Valladolid. There are also different routes from Valladolid: route of the castles, route of the red wine (Ribera del Duero). For further info about Castilla y León region: www.turismocastillayleon.com or in the tourist office of Valladolid (Santiago Street)

I had not been in this one, but been in othe other version they have on the coast Selwo and like it.

Rent a car and visit some of the castles around Valladolid, we did a few and love them, peñafiel or La Mota at Medina del Campo as example.
