hello everyone...i have a tough question.i'm torn between choosing austalian national university and macquarie university?I'm thinking of taking accounting,so can u provide me some information on which uni is stronger in accounting education?thank you for your help...:):):)

Macquarie University is actually in Sydney. The Australian National University (ANU) has a very good name but I am sorry I cant help you on which uni has the better accounting education.

The Senator is right. He could also have told you that ANU is in Canberra. I also don't know which is better for accounting, but you would have a better lifestyle in Sydney. Macquarie University is in the suburbs of Sydney about 15 km northwest of the city. If you have to live in a city, Sydney is pretty hard to beat. Great climate, beaches, national parks, cosmopolitan atmosphere, nightlife, action etc. Canberra is ok but pretty dead in comparison, and has more extreme temperatures. But closer to the snow in winter for skiing. Coincidentally I live about 1 km away from Macquarie Uni. Good luck!

OOps, I meant I work within 1 km of Macquarie Uni. I live north of here by the beach.

we go to ANU and it is a really great uni but MrMoo is right - can't beat Sydney for fun.
hate to bash canberra, but it can be boring, especially if you don't know many people....it is easy to live in, get around etc
but sydney is more exciting and cosmopolitan
