| Wengen | Wengen Honeymoon hotel Posted: Tue April 13, 2004 02:12 PM UTC
The village is beautiful, having camped and hiked throughout the area in June 1999, but has anybody the name of a special hotel, as we intend to return as "Honeymooners" sept. 2005.

Congratulations! I got engaged while staying in Wengen in July, 1999. I haven't stayed there, but we explored the grounds and peeked inside of the grand old hotel on the hill in Wengen -- the Victoria Jungfrau, I think. It looked like a wonderful, romantic place. Perhaps someone else can correct me if I've got the name wrong and can comment on the accomodations.

I love that region, but I have never stayed in Wengen. Check this website: www.wengen.com/hotels.html

I just followed that link, and realized I got the hotel name wrong. The one I'm thinking of is the Regina. (The Victoria Jungfrau is in Interlaken -- sorry for the mix-up.)

Having just returned from a three night stay at the Hotel Schweizerhof in nearby Grindelwald, I would suggest that as a good alternative. It is rated 4* but goes well beyond that as a standard. It is not cheap but gives excellent value and service.
