Just got back from playa del carmen and what a wonderful place this is. I must let all know if going check out a little place called Casa De Gopala between 2nd Callie and 10 Avenue. Small and very reasonably priced they also have a dive operation called Yucteck attached. Great people and and very helpful. If you would like any more info contact me.

Now I,m on to next year, Can't get the travel bug out.
Would like to check out Guadelope next year and am starting research early.
My husband, daughter(17) and parents who are young at heart.
# Has anyone done any diving and if so. Is the diving good and who would be a good dive shop to check out
# we like accommodations with kitchettes( no all inclusives ) is there any ideas out there.

What are good places to stay as in towns.

hi,
the best place to dive are at the "reserve cousteau" or the "ilet pigeon" or the island of "petite terre" but i ve been happy sometimes just to snorkle as you can see quit a lot this way too.
places to stay: haute terre is more touristic with white sandy beaches, basse terre is quieter,and has a tropical forest, back sandy beaches and the volcano. so it depends what you are after.the island is not very big so it s easy to get to the other side and come back in one day if you have a car.
