Suzhou to Shanghai

Hi

I will be leaving Suzhou Changmen Hotel to Railway station.

How long is the journey?
Should I take bus or taxi?
How much is the journey from the hotel to Railway station?
When is the earliest train on 9/4?

I just visit Suzhou one month ago, I think it just take 20 minutes from the changmen hotel to suzhou railway station by taxi, and cost less than rmb15.

1. 4km to Suzhou Railway Station.
2. Bus, within 15 minutes. No need to take a taxi.
3. Cost 1 or 2 RMB. Taxi, about 10RMB.
4. Almost every half hour a train leaves Suzhou for Shanghai. But remember, you MUST MUST MUST buy a ticket as early as possible. I think tickets within 2 days be all sold out . Please go to the station to get a 9/4 ticket right now.

Does one really haveto buy train ticket in advance from suzhou to shanghai given that they seem to go every half hour ... can one stand - trips only about an hour
?
