If you are looking for a cheap hotel in the middle of Cairo, a 5 minute walk to the Egyptian Museum and views on the Nile, I would recommend The Garden City House Hotel. Only 84 LE for a double room with bathroom, balcony and airco, including breakfast. I have been there: the rooms are clean and spacious and the personel is very helpfull and friendly.
