| Dnipropetrovsk | :-) Any last minute advice? Posted: Mon March 29, 2004 07:47 AM UTC
It's not quite the last minute before I go, but I will be there on Saturday :-) I will be arriving at the airport in Dnipropetrovsk :-) Numerous people have told me that customs, etc. is no big deal, so I am not so worried about this, but has anyone got any general advice about things to try or do or see? :-) I haven't forgotten Inga's advice about pepper vodka ;-) I speak some Russian, so let's hope it's enough :-)))))
I don't know where to go outside of this city really! :-) I will go to Kharkiv, Crimea and I don't know where else, maybe Kyiv, but has anyone any ideas of somewhere different to go? :-) Adam |

hi Adam,
it depends on your free time and the things you'd like to see/do. Lviv is a beautiful place but it's not near Dnipropetrovsk. If you have time, go there. And I'd also recommend the following places : Odesa (if you come on April 1st, there is a humour festival there) Uman (count Potocki's land with a beautiful hydro park) Kamianets-Podilski (medieval town, very nice) And Crimea, as you planned Good luck :)

:-))))) I will have too much free time. I think I have similiar interests to you maybe, because I like old monuments, history and learning about culture :-) Lviv is too far maybe :-( :-) Maybe I could go there some other time though :-) It depends on whether I find other places, which I think I will.
Unfortunately I will miss the humour festival :-) I will not be there :-( The other places seem interesting and I have been told about Uman before by Valeriy, so it is good to hear good opinions from two people :-) The medieval town sounds interesting!! :-))) I will look for information on this :-))) I will print this forum off the internet before I leave :-))) I bet Valerij comes here and also maybe no1pinkpanther aka David :-)) Thanks for your opinon :-))) and I will tell you about Dnipropetrovsk and maybe you will want to go there ;-) :-)) Adam :-)

Hi Adam,
No advice for you mate but I hope you have a blast there! I'm off to the Ukraine myself in a little over a months time so I will read your experiences with interest on your return. Enjoy (& don't forget to stay well clear of the Honey & Pepper Vodka!). lol Mark

Thanks for your well wishes:-)))) I think that you chose the wrong forum though to knock pepper and honey vodka :-)))) Inga will be in England during the time that I will be in Ukraine :-(((( It is ironic, but if you go to the meeting which should be organised, then Inga will show you the joys of this vodka :-) She will never let you knock it again:-) I will write some information when I get back, but I am always slow, so if you want to send me an email after 17th April, I will respond :-)))
