Moving Tips Around Within the Same Page
Posted: Sun March 28, 2004 01:38 PM UTC
I'd like to move some of my tips to different categories within the same page. The Help section says that the only way that can be done is to open another browser and cut and paste the tip onto a new template.

Unfortunately I'm not a computer whizz, so I don't know what that means, or how to do it. Can anyone please help by explaining how to cut and paste?

Any help would be appreciated.

When I want to move an existing tip to a new category (for instance, I don't use General Tip category anymore), I open two browser windows - say A and B. Say the old tip is in A and the new tip-to-be in B. In A, I make like I am going to edit the page (click 'edit your tip'), then in B, click on the add a new tip.

Now you should have the old and new tips in a form that you can easily copy each section from A to B (you need to have the original of the picture). Once you are finished, save tip B and check it out. If it is fine, then delete tip A.

You have to be aware that moving a tip like this deletes any ratings you may have accumulated with Tip A.

I hope it works for you. Redlats

To open another browser window you have a couple of options.

The easiest way is to hold down the SHIFT key and click on a link. You can then navigate cut and paste between windows independent of each other.

The alternative method is to use Windows Explorer to open another window and type in a web address in the address bar whilst keeping your original Explorer window open.

Happy tipping.
