Looking for peoples' advice on accommodation options in Guilin. Doesnt need to be real budget conscious but Im also looking to contain the costs as well. What are the benefits of these locations and your experiences would certainly be appreciated.

Don't stay in Guilin, stay in Yangshou (less than one hour from Guilin). This nice old town have cheap & clean guesthouse range, price from RM20

Any suggestions on the best way to get to Yangshou once in Guilin?

There are mini bus outside Guilin train station, running every 15-20 mins.

Yes, don't stay in Guilin as there is not much to see or do.

Go to Yangshuo. There are buses that leaves from the front of the bus station and these cost 10 Yuan. They leave all the time from about 6.30am till about 9.30pm

There is also a brand new express bus that leaves from the main bus staion. This one costs 13 yuan and there are no smokers on the bus

if you are backpacker you should stay in yangshuo while you like comfort guilin is good base for you, you can take bus from the front of train station to yangshuo, it costs u 10 yuan and about one hour to get there
