My husband and I are going on a 1st time trip - we are taking a major marine tour of Kenai, the ferry crossing from Whittier to Valdez, and doing a whale watch in Petersberg. So - while at Glacier Bay, is it redundant to take the Spirit of Adventure tour? We definately plan on kayaking one day while at Bartlett Cove. Thanks --

Take the Sprit of Adventure tour. Alaska is best enjoyed when you spend time off the big ships. Next to Glacier Bay there is the little village of Hoonah. It's on the other side of Icy Straight. In between is some first class fishing for halibut and salmon. But if you ever come back to the panhandle try seeing it by traveling the ferry system with a small car. It will save you bucks and you will see a lot more of Alaska.
