Today The Netherlands have woken up and slowly flags are appearing outside. Flags, halfmast, as a sign of moarning as our beloved princes Juliana (queen from 1948 until 1980) has past away.
Our national holiday, the 30st of April, was actually her birthday, but stayed our biggest Orange festival, even after she gave the crown to her daughter. She was known to be the human queen, always stribing to world peace. She can be seen as a main drive to what The Netherlands have become in and after the post-war decennia.
If any VT-members want to leave a reaction, herewith I create a possibility to that.

It is very hard to say, but world with out princess, it's not the world i like to live. Let her sleep in peace. I hope there is other princess to replace her, and make your country, and the world too, a better place to live. Juliana 1909-2004

Thanks for the reactions so far on this forum. I want to add in respons to some remarks.
Juliana indeed reached a quite high age and has more then earned to rest in peace. Still, it leaves for many of us an empty space. The queen that was more then any other also just a woman among her people, has gone now. She always sailed her own course and in the midst of the terrible cold war she was telling against NATO and the US by keeping them that coexistance, trust and world peace were the most important issues.
For those who are interested. From Thursday the 25th of March until Sunday the 28th, in palace "Noordeinde" in The Hague one can say goodbye to our princess, that will stay queen in memory for many.

Thank you Paul for the notice you put up. Our condolences go to the family of the former Queen Juliana of the Netherlands. As a child I once a year did go to the Hague to watch Queen Juliana and Prins Bernhard arrive in their Golden Carriage at the Parlement buildings for her throne speech. April 30 ,Queensday was a day of celebration and very exciting day for children and adults alike. Very good memories I have of this great lady. I like to share in the moarning with the Dutch people But I also agree that it is apropiate to celebrate the long life of Princes Juliana former Queen of the Netherlands. Lori & Hans
