Heraklion	heraklion, Crete- transportation Posted: Wed March 17, 2004 03:07 AM UTC What is the best way to get around Crete? i was thinking of renting a car but i wasn't sure if parking is an issue in Heraklion as we want to visit the museum. i wasn't sure if we should get a taxi from the airport to the hotel in Heraklion, visit the museum and then rent a car as we will be leaving the city. What is the best way to get around Crete?

Hi Viv, I was in crete last september & parking wasn't a problem in Heraklion. Your best bet would be to go to a hire car place in your resort as it will be much cheaper than picking one up at the airport or pre booking. I had a medium size car for 20 euros per day.
