Huangshan Getting to and from Huangshan
Posted: Mon March 8, 2004 09:48 AM UTC
Hi,
I'm planning to travel to Huangshan in June, either from Shanghai or Beijing. I've found quite much info needed, but I'm still missing some:
- Are there overnight trains or buses from Shanghai to Huangshan?
- Are there overnight trains or buses from Huangshan to Shanghai?
- How do I get from Huangshan to Guangzhou? I found out that it's possible to take a train from Huangshan to Yingtan and then change to the Guangzhou train, but this option isn't schedule-wise that good. Does anybody have better ideas&information, e.g. about bus from Huangshan to Guangzhou?

Any information appreciated.

Thomas

P.S. Flying isn't an option
P.P.S. With Huangshan I refer to either Tunxi or Tangkou

Leave enough time for shift train at Yingtan coz trains may arrive late some time.

Hi Colomb,
thanks a million for your valuable information!

Do you happen to know if there are direct buses from Huangshan to Guangzhou? Or is this Yingtan train the only option?

Cheers,
Thomas

Thomas, I'm sorry the train schedule listed above might not be viable coz the Chinese Railway are speeding up on Apr.18th among the whole net. Must be a new schedule then. I'll keep you noticed when it's available. Could you remind me, by email or other ways at that time?

I don't think there's bus available from either Huangshan or Yingtan to Guangzhou coz it's about 1000KM distance.

Hi Colomb,
now worries about the schedule. I'll ask you sometimes in April again. Actually I'm also interested in trains in the opposite direction, i.e. Guangzhou-Yingtan-Huangshan.

Do you have a web-link from where you see the train schedules? Could I get it from you even if it's in Chinese (I know a little Chinese)?

Thanks again!

Thomas

You can refer to http://train.tielu.org/ and www.shtlfj.com.

Well, I think start from Guangzhou and end at Shanghai is a better choice because you can book a seat or sleeper for the Guangzhou-Yingtan route and even book a Huangshan-Shanghai ticket at Guangzhou in advance. And more choices from Huangshan to Shanghai, including bus.

If need me, tell me
