Germany: Castles hotel?

hello VT-ers!
i will be traveling to germany with my boyfriend at the beginning of april. we heard that staying in the castles in germany would be a cool idea. however, i don't have any information about it. can anyone recommend any castles hotel that is great with reasonable price range (USD 100-200)? thanks a lot.

Hi there,
staying at a castle overnight is a great idea and there are lots of castles in Germany offering that. I've stayed at Schloss Jagsthausen and can really recommend it. It's the castle of the "Goetz von Berlichingen" Goethe wrote a famous novel about him. Jagsthausen is in between Heilbronn and Wuerzburg about a 2hrs drive from Frankfurt.

Some german youthhostels are also located in castles, the one in Nuremberg is beautiful and located in the city center in the Kaiserburg.

I know of two castles with youthhostels in my region. One is at the Augustus Castle the other in Wittenberg.

Hi kikiree,
why not check out www.countrysidecastles.com you can stay in really old romatic castles in beautiful countryside and if you want you can cycle from castle to castle, prices are reasonable and food is great!
