Durban durban what hotel to choose
Posted: Sun March 7, 2004 08:19 AM UTC
Q: We are thinking of a trip to South Africa in November and we have been offered a good deal in either the Cutty Sark Hotel or Blue Marlin Hotel in Scottburgh. Has any boby stayed in either of these hotels ?? Also, what would the weather be like at this time of year. Please advise of any other things that you may think are of interest.

Many Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave

Hotels can be expensive and are at the top of the food chain.

I havent been to either of the two places you mentioned but have a look at www.stayinsa.co.za .

You can gage your value for money and if you are paying tourist rates or getting a good deal.

Tips, give no more that 10%, garages no more than 40 cents to the petrol jockey. half the people dont give at all. If in doubt ask around.

Have a great time

Steve

I've been through Scottbugh a few times--nothing particularly memorable otherwise... I would have remembered it!

But a bit further south are Margate and Port Shepstone which usually strike me as ore interesting places. I guess the best thing to do is go online and see some photos of these places!

November is usually spring in full swing, and when the coast isn't rainy it's sticky, but it's always mild. Expect a little wind, a little rain, and a little more sun!
