I'm just about to sign a contract to teach in Suzhou for a year. I've never been to China before except HK 3 decadesago. Looking to meet up with interesting people from around the before I arrive. I have lots of Questions. Also interested in meeting with people living in Shanghai to bulid up friendships so maybe we
can visit each other. I;m a Cairns (in the tropica.One of the most beautiful places in the world) Nth Qld Aussie girl/woman. I'm alternative in mind and spirit and politcally Greens/not dizzy. I enjoy cards/ scrabble backgammon/swimming/ reading/films/the arts/travelling/ occassional raging/raving. Love to hear from any one out there

Hi, I'm a Shanghaiese and just been to Suzhou last weekend with my GF. It's my 3rd time to go there. Of course I acknowledge more about the city than you do. Any question you can ask me directly.

Remind, Suzhou is a city of about 2 thousands of years' age(Shanghai, about 2 hundreds' years) with lots of cultural/scenary places, traditional Chinese style, of course. Better read something about this background.

I am Beijinger, but now work in Shanghai. I've been there last year. Suzhou is a beautiful place. In China, Suzhou and Hangzhou are called heaven on the earth. it's famous for the traditional chinese garden.

Did you make bad mistakes; perhaps with money or food or discuss or something else? I didnīt understood, where are you from? Iīm a Finnish woman. My son with his family went to Suzhou last week, perhaps for 6 months. I would like to visit with him next winter. It would be nice to learn some words in Chinese, you know, thanks, sorry, where is,,,and so on before I will travell. Could you help me, how I learn best?
