How easy and quick is it to get from Rijeka to Opatjia.
I will be coming from Venice via Rijeka and need to get to Opatjia to board a ferry by midday 26 June. Any suggestions on the quickest way from Venice would also be appreciated |

It doesn't take long to get from Rijeka to Opatija - you can just get a city bus from close the bus station. I don't remember the exact number but I'm pretty sure it's in the Lonely Planet Croatia guide if you can have a look at it.

Exactly, Opatija is very close to Rijeka. I should think it takes no more than 20 min for the local bus stopping at all the stops along the way. Connections are very frequent, esp in summer, so you needn't worry. Just make it to Rijeka and it will be easy to transfer to Opatija.

From Rijeka to Opatija - you can get a city bus.(Line number 32) Distance is about 20 min. I sugest You to by ticket in any shop with newspapers or cigarettes.
I'ts cheaper then buy it in the bus.(two way ticket 19 Kn (2.5 Eur) From Vemice to Rijeka If You come with car take route Venice . Trieste - Kozina (Slovenian border) - Rupa(Croatian border) - Rijeka If You don't come with car take bus line from Trieste to Rijeka (Fiume on Italian). This bus passes thru Opatia before reach Rijeka. Zeljko
