trip from Reykjavik to Vik

We are going to Iceland on March12-14.

How much time would it take to drive from Vik to Reykjavik straight? Is a regular car OK for this time of the year?

How much time would it take to drive from Reykjavik to Vik via Geysir and Gulfoss?

it's about 200 klms from Reykjavik by car respecting the speed limit (80 kms/h). You have just to take the Ring Road (Road number 1). A regular car it's ok if you stay in that Road.

Hi, it will probably take you about 2-3 hours to drive straight. If you go via Gullfoss & Geysir it will be about 4 hours, depending on how long you'll stop there.

I think the speed limit is 90 but I'm not sure.

Hi there .
Here you have different distances in Iceland. And for that time of year it is enough for you to have a small regular car.At this time of the year it would be 125-130 km to Geysir and Gullfoss is about 10 km from there.
In the summer you can do a shorter one but not open in winter.
I would say that you should do the south shore to vik in one day and Gullfoss Geysir in another day. I think it is too much to do both in one day, it would be a very long day. If you need any help with renting a car I might be able to get you a deal at this one http://atak.is
