Arequipa Travel Forum

I have been in Arequipa for the last week for non touristic reasons (by the way in a very good hostel, La Casa de Tintin, this is the email, lacasadetintin@yahoo.es, see also the tip I have posted in the hotels and accomodation section).

Staying a few days or weeks in a town is the best way I enjoy travelling, instead of running through the whole country or continent from one touristic spot to another.

The think is that I was touched by the many poverty problems of this city, and I feel the need of doing something. Does anybody knows of a reliable NGO in Arequipa that deals with the problem of young children in the streets ?

Save the Children used to have an office in Lima, which supported projects around the country - not sure whether they still do, but a websearch will probably tell you.
