I am hoping to visit Mali at the end of the summer. A friend told me that there are flights into Mopti from Europe for much cheaper than the Air France flights into Bamako. If anyone has any information about the existence of these flights, I would appreciate it very much. Thank you all.

Point Afrique are probably the cheapest. See this page below for Mopti:

Try going through Royal Air Maroc. I spent over 6 months researching flight prices and I am saving over $600 by going through them. There is sometimes a slight layover (12-16 hours) in Casablanca, Morocco, but the airline flies directly into Bamako.
