Yes, the problem is the size of the vehicle that you would have to rent for 7 people plus luggage. You could rent two small cars each holding 4 people and some luggage for almost half that, together. I see Avis will rent you 2 compact cars (holding 4-5 people, but the luggage may be a problem) for 295 euro each.

Do you happen to have two people willing to drive?

The obvious alternative would be the train, but I have to ask - can each person (except for the baby) carry their share of their luggage? Train travel requires that you carry your own luggage...

So, if you can handle this, do the following:
1. Take two taxis from the airport to the train station (yes, there are buses, but what a hassle with a large group).
2. At the train station, buy tickets to Peschiera del Garda. There are no direct trains, so you will have to change at Treviglio or Brescia. Again, you have to be able to handle your own luggage in the change.
3. The trains are all regional trains, so no reservations are needed or even possible. No reserved seats, so you sit where you can. I would assume that on a late Monday morning, that this won't be a problem.
4. Note that the connection through Brescia is slightly slower and slightly cheaper.
5. The next departure from Bergamo after 10 a.m. is 11:21. This changes in Treviglio, but has only a 5 minute layover, which is tight is the first train is at all late or you have trouble managing the transfer. The next departure after that is 12:07, which has a 30 minute layover in Brescia for the change...this may suit you better.
6. Right now, the prices are 7.35 euro one way 2nd class (change in Brescia) or 8.50 euro one way 2nd class (change in Treviglio). There aren't any discounts because the fares are already so cheap; however, I haven't double checked but I think the baby rides free. So, 45 or so euro one way for you all.
7. The reverse trip gets down the same way...taxi from your hotel to the station at Peschiera del Garda, then regional train back to Bergamo train station, then taxi over to the airport...

The official rail website is www.trenitalia.com...

Hi! We're currently planning EuroMeet in Bergamo, and have plenty of information about transport from Orio al Serio airport to Bergamo train station, and to points beyond.

www.shuttledirect.com offers transfers for groups of 6 or more.
Autostradale offers a bus service direct from Orio al Serio to Brescia

Please check our 'How to get to Bergamo' page for more information on these companies

Is your return flight from Orly al Serio at 07.00? If so, I'd certainly advise staying in Bergamo Citta Bassa the night before. Check www.Booking.com or www.venere.com for accommodation.

I think these days, there appears to be no such thing as 'typical weather'
Come prepared for all weathers! Hopefully you will experience warm days, with chillier nights -

http://www.wunderground.com/q/zmw:00000.74.16090 might be helpful, with its 10 day forcast.
