Well, we have already discussed about local customs in other threads

- At 19 you will only find tapas places and touristy rip-offs. Your choice.
- the city is full of local people walking around from 19 to 22 hours, or later, including children, so really nothing to fear.
- Lucky you if you will "get laid" every evening (sorry I could not help... I know English is not your first language, apologies but it was too funny!)

You can choose to get a real experience just moving your schedule a bit later, but of course its up to you. You can visit museums, shops, etc until 20-20:30... and then go for dinner. But if you finish dinner by lets' say 20 they only you can do is going to a bar (or late shopping in the city centre, many shops close at 21-22)

In any case, if you are travelling to Barca, you will be visiting a tiny village in central Spain so I'm afraid there will be not much to do, at any hour ;-)

I assume by Barca you mean Barcelona? As the sun sets every day at 18.30, then you should be at your restaurant of choice by then. It will have to be near your hotel as you do not like going around after dark. For the two hours between finishing your meal and bedtime...... sit in a bar near your hotel? Go shopping near your hotel? Sit in the hotel lobby and read?

Well, you could get laid every evening a little earlier, if you just start buying the girls drinks before dinner.

Sorry, could not help myself. OP, please look up what that expression means in English!!! I don't really think you mean what you said...

I know from previous posts that what our friend meant here is that he will be going to sleep at 10:00. But it is the best chuckle I've had in awhile!! Not laughing at our poster, mind you, but at the unintentionally funny things we can say in languages not our own.

I had a waitress in convulsions once over a beer order: "Yo Soy cerveza."
That does not mean "I'd like a beer " or so I learned when she could compose herself.

Of course, I was neither laughing *at* our poster, but *with* him.
We all have our share of funny mistakes when learning languages!

LOL @ GoodFish

My brother once told the person behind the counter in a Spanish petrol station

"Ik ben ein carta de roadas por favor"

we laughed till we cried..but then again none of us knew how to ask for a map either so....

I once asked for "a carpet" in a stationery shop in Edinburgh... (carpeta is the Spanish name for folder)

Methinks the OP is having a little fun with us perhaps! :-)

Interesting thread. (I'm hoping to visit Spain in '13 myself.)

I once asked in France for a drapeau (flag) instead for a drap (bed sheet). Better not knowing which errors I do not notice (when writing in this forum).

I really hope the OP is taking these replies with sense of humor.

About what she asks: Trust in Belsaita, she knows her city...19:00 is not the "right" time to have diner in Barcelona. Most "restaurants" are closed, only the ones specialized in tourists(extra expensive) or bars are open. Most people is finishing their working day(I finish at 19:00), then they must go back home, and many of them go out to enjoy a beer with friends before dinner...so you can do the numbers.

I am pretty sure that most museums and city atractions will be open until 20:00.

Have fun

As they say, grass looks always greened at the other side of the fence, a life looks less boring in the places you're on vacation.
Regular schedule in Barcelona:

Monday -- Friday:
0700 or 0800 Breakfast
0800 (0900 if you're lucky) TO 1800 (or later) at work. 1 free hour in between for lunch (1300-1400)
1900-2030: shopping (not the fun type), cleaning the house, taking kids from the after-school activities, etc. Once in a blue moon having a drink with friends or colleagues, but not every day, probably not even every week.
2100 Dinner
2200 look at TV (if you're not tired enough) before going to bed

Mind this is in case you are lucky enough you have a office work. The work schedule may be a lot crazier here. And weekends are not necessarily funnier than in Norway.

I don't know, getting laid every night at 22:00 sounds like a plan to me. Sounds like he/she has it pretty well figured out.
