3 romantic dinners
Posted: Tue February 14, 2012 07:06 AM UTC
Hi, I need your help for one of my close friends who will be in Rome to celebrate his 30th anniversary with his wife next week. They will stay for 3 nights and they need your recommendations for 3 elegant, romantic restaurants they will attend on three nights in Rome. The restaurants could be expensive, the only matter is romance, the elegance and the food.
Thank you in advance

I haven't been there in quite awhile, but I remember Agate e Romeo being a small, romantic place with good food. I'd caution your friends to research it on either www.chowhound.com or maybe TripAdvisor to see if I'm correct. It may not be elegant enough for what they're looking for.

Al Cantuccio (The Little Corner) is a very romantic restaurant. It is located outside the city center. A taxi is required to reach the restaurant and return to the hotel; but it is well worth the effort. Address: Via Tripoli 71. Phone: 06.86214102.

Evangelista is another sweet place for a couple to celebrate their anniversary visit to the Eternal City. Address: Via delle Zoccolette, 11a. Phone: +39 6 687 5810.

Ristorante Ranieri is the very definition of Old World charm. Address: Via Mario dei Fiori, 26. Directions: The nearest Metro station is Spagna. Phone: +39 06 679 3335.

All three restaurants are more thoroughly reviewed on my Rome restaurant pages. Take a look!

Also check out La Cesta Restaurant and the Minerva Roof Garden (open all year round, it offers outstanding views of Rome). Both are located in Grand Hotel de la Minerve at Piazza della Minerva, 69 (http://www.grandhoteldelaminerve.com)

The most romantic restaurant I have ever had the pleasure to eat at, My wife & I have returned there three times after your initial visit.
It is called; "The Library" it only has six tables, the was food superb & service was excellent.

Please check it out your friends will not be disappointed.

Also
The restaurant where Julia Roberts eats in the movie Eat, Pray, Love is;
Santa Lucia‎
Largo Febo, 12
00186 Rome, Italy

The food was very good & the setting amazing "my wife & I have eaten there twice" unfortunately the garden terrace may be closed at that time of year but it is still a lovely, lovely restaurant.
Good luck & hope your friends have the trip of a lifetime, they are very lucky to have a friend like you.
