Krabi Vs Kho Samui

I am planning a trip and have about 3 days to pick one of the islands in thailand. I was debating between Koh Samui and Krabi... I am 25 years old and traveling with my sister.. i will be going around Feb 15

any reccomendations of which island to visit?? and what to do?

I like somewhere nice and the ocean but not too secluded and honeymooney.

Hi, Samui is further north & on the east coast, Krabi is more southern & on the west.

Saui is the honeymoon zone!! More secluded, more upmarket resorts, etc.

Krabi is great & will work better. A range of beaches to choose from - some are rated as the best in the country! Eg Railay (Rai Leh), Hat Tham, Ao Nang.

both area are affected by monsoons
going around Feb 15... Krabi
going around Aug 15... Ko Samui

Samui has been irrevocably ruined by gross overdevelopment. The water is polluted. From Krabi Town you can take a boat to Koh Lanta. The further south on Lanta you go the quieter it is.

Koh Samui is full on and busy, Krabi will be a little quiter but you also have the option to take the ferry to Phi Phi Islands for a day a few, whatever you decide.
