Budget airline from Rio to Salvador.Bahia.Brazil.

Howdy all.
iam going to Rio on 19th April for 4 days then want to go to Salvador,Bahia .
whats the best budget airline to fly with?
also is it a nice trip by land to take a bus?how long it ll take.

Webjet is usually cheapest on that route, flight is about 2 hours. Bus trip takes about 26-27 usually costs more than the flight and isn't especially interesting.

Avianca sometimes is cheaper than Webjet and fly direct from Rio to Salvador too; for the 23th April it's a little cheaper than Webjet (155 reais instead of 200 reais with Webjet, about 100US$) and flies at noon, Webjet flies at night and arrives late, it depends when you want to fly

If you are going in April you might be best looking for the online promotions that each of the airlines run from time to time. Generally speaking I've found that Webjet has the best price on regular fares, although as #3 points out frequency is the issue. The Salvador Rio flight leaves pre-dawn although the advantage here is that you miss peak hour traffic on arrival.

Look at TAM, Gol, Avianca, Webjet and Azul.

I agree that Web Jet is usually the cheapest. My only concerns with them has been that the flights usually make several stops and they use some really old planes compared to some of the other carriers.

Do realize that many of the best fares are by purchasing online, which usually requires a Brazilian ID and Brazil-issued credit card.

Probably not from Australia, unless you find an agency that can do it (but then you probalby won't get the best price), but yes, if your friend in Salvador has a Brazilian ID and Brazil-issued credit card.
