Drive Barbados

Has anyone used Drive Barbados for car hire? They have quite reasonable rates but can't find any reviews anywhere and aren't listed on any websites - just a bit concerned whether they're a scam?

We had a car in Barbados but it was from Top Hat. Keep in mind that you have to get a Bajan license and that will be extra. Depending on the season you go, I wouldn't go with just an open topped jeep and a car with doors you can lock will be more expensive. Also the cars may be mostly manual transmissions.

Here's a list of car places to compare

Yes, but you can't leave anything in those mini-mokes when you go to a museum or visit one of the caves or go on a nature walk. Also if you are there in the rainy season, you will get wet.

To answer the question, no, they are not a scam. They are actually a pretty good company. I do recommend, like Granma above that you get a car that can be locked, not just for personal items, but also due to possible rain.

The local licence, is the law, but it is only five bucks and Drive Barbados will issue it.

Do take some time to enjoy the St, Lawrence Gap, or better known as just "The Gap" just south of Bridgetown. It is a lot of fun.....d:o)
