Me, Myself and I.

Hiya.

I'm really keen to go away for 2 weeks at the end of February/beginning of March just by myself. I'm a musician so I'm looking for somewhere in Slovenia, where I can take my guitar and be inspired by my surroundings. I'm ideally looking for a log cabin or a lovely apartment in an incredible surrounding (trees, hills etc.). I've also tried to look for somewhere with a hot tub but I'm very much struggling to find somewhere with these kind of facilities that doesn't break my budget of £800 for the 2 weeks.

If anybody has any suggestions of a lovely destination or accommodation, it'd VERY MUCH be appreciated.

Thank you.

Scotty.

Hi Scotty,

The Hisa Sonca near Bled is a nice choice. Close enough to the action, but remote enough that it is quiet and has views of surrounding mountains and countryside. At around 45-50euro per night, this shouldn't break your budget!

I suggest you have a look at the excellent official tourist info site which lists most/all accommodation:

http://www.slovenia.info/en/Holiday-house.htm?pocitniska_hisa=0&lng=2

There is lots of choice.

Slovenia does have some wonderful countryside but will you hire a car? If not, you will need to find somewhere on or near a bus or railway route. Here's the bus information in English:

and the trains:

i wouldnt stay in bled, these days its too commercial and not what youre looking for.
stay rather in bohinj, its cheaper, and absolutely stunning, a lake surrounded by the alpine mountains.

I would strongly recommend Haloze hills near Ptuj if you realy want to get away from it all and be inspired! You get a real feel for Slovenia and its people.People still live in a traditional way.We stayed in a place where you look straight out over the hills and the forest is at your doorstep. Lots of wildlife and you can watch the birds of pray flying overhead.
