The answer to "how to get from A to B by train" for any A or B in Germany or Austria (or about anywhere else in Europe bar Spain and Portugal) is available here -> www.bahn.de

Earliest train from Schladming is 0648 with 2 changes along the way, there is another train at 0810 with no changes, travel time will be about 3hrs 30min.
Returning to Schladming there is a train at 1627 with no changes and another at 1723 with two changes, trip will take from 3hr30min to 4hrs. There is also a late night departure if you want to travel overnight.

Going by the train timings, you will have a maximum of 4 hours to see Munich.I would think it is still worth it, though it will be tedious. You could see Marienplatz and the famous clock, the odeon platz and the sights around. or you could take a city tour by a bus which will cover all the sights, but the problem is that most of the city tours are in the morning time. But there is also a hop on and off bus tour.If you decide where you want to go, you can go only to those places.
It is a pity that you cannot go to Bavaria and the villages and castles around Munich.
Have a good trip,

When you have around 4 hours in Munich this is what you can do:
get out at Hauptbahnhof and walk through the pedestrian aerea between Karlsplatz/Stachus and Marienplatz.
There its just a few meters to the cathedral and Hofbräuhaus is close there as well.
Dont miss Assamkirche in Sendlingerstrasse, one of the most beautiful baroque churches on earth.
Residenz: the former palace is about 500 meters from Marienplatz and it does not look special from OUTside, BUT the interior is really great !
