RE: Annapurna circuit in 16 days? Posted: Sat July 16, 2005 05:23 PM UTC
Sorry op for responding over a year and a half later, but just in case someone might find this useful I wanted to let y'all know that you can certainly walk the Annapurna Circuit in 16 days. In fact, that's usually the minimum time recommended (16-21 days is the norm)
Day 1 - Early bus to Basisahar, start walking and o/n along the way (try Ngadi)
Days 2 - 15 Hike all around the circuit aiming for Ghorepani. If you are running out of time though, you can reach the road (aka where buses pass) a short day hike from Tatopani (skipping Ghorepani). I really think this won't be necessary as long as you are a good hiker and the weather is fine. Sure, Ghorepani has great views, but let's face it it won't kill you if you have to skip that if you're press in time... the rest of the trail is equally rewarding in itself.
Day 16 back to Pokhara.
suerte,
Fernando
