Hi everyone. We will be visiting Slovenia in mid-November and have several days scheduled for Lake Bohinj and surrounding area. how cold will it be? what should I prepare for? many thanks for advice.

i would say it will be coldish, especially considering its surrounded by mountains, but its really beautiful. i would take a good pair of winter/hiking boots, woolen socks, dress in layers (if youre warm you can easily take a layer off). gloves, hat and scarf. if you dont have very thick pants especially for the winter than long johns as well.

Hi
Not the ideal time to visit weatherwise, but I guess you already know that if you're asking this question.
I would have thought that a worse eventuality than cold would be heavy rain. If it's cold, you can just add additional layers and it won't make a huge difference to your enjoyment - especially if you keep active - but rain is harder to deal with, and if the clouds are low, will also potentially compromise visibility and your enjoyment of the stunning scenery.
Fugu has offered you excellent advice on keeping warm, but may I suggest that you make sure that you add an umbrella as well as waterproof jacket and shoes as well?
If the weather stays fine then it's a gorgeous spot - enjoy!
Regards
Cathy

Nothing to add. It could be minus 5 or +12 as is now. If it will raining you'll miss surroundings scenery and should know that slovenians say that rain in Bohinj has youngs ;)
Hope you'll get sunny weather!
