Parque Nacional do Iguaçu by yourself & high season
Posted: Fri February 6, 2004 05:23 PM UTC
Hi,
I'm planning te be in Puerto Iguazu half march for visiting the falls. I have two questions
* I want to arrange a hostel when i arrive. Is it better to do it in advance? Maybe it's high season over there....
* Can you enjoy the falls and walk around there just by yourself?

Thanks for your advice

Hello,

Yes, I guess that it will be better to do a booking at a hostel in advance, March is not really high season, but there are always people from everywhere at Iguazu.
Maybe you want to have a look at the webpage of Puerto Iguazu Hostel:
http://www.sumajhostel.com.ar/home_eng.htm

Yes of course it is possible to walk around the falls alone, without a group..that's even better , because then you have more time to take pictures and do not have to be always after your group!
The official webpage of the National Park in Argentina:
http://www.iguazuargentina.com.ar/

Hope I could help you?

Greetings from Germany
Evelyn

Oh, sorry,

I saw only now that you have posted your question in the Brazil Forum and thought you would go to the falls from the argentinian side. (because you told you go to Puerto Iguazu)
Now i am not sure anymore, if you will be at the Brazilian side I can give you the same detailed answers for it too..just write me if you will not go to the Argentina side, ok???

It is not high season, and you can arrange your hostel over there. You can walk around by yourself and have fun there.

Parque Nacional do Iguaçu Don't book in advance!

Don't book in advanced. It's not necessary. There are plenty of hostel and March isn't the high season anyway. You can get the bus from the main terminal to take you to the falls. It's about 30 minutes away from Puerto Iguazu. Once you are in the park you can walk all the trails. There is a little train that will take you to the Garganta del Diablo platform as it is about 1 km away and the trail is muddy.
You do not need a special tour.

You can also grab a bus to Brazil and see the Brazil side of the falls. Check out my page and others for more info on how to do that. It's pretty easy, i saw both sides in two days. It's incredible!
