I am joining a Carnival Cruise for 3 nights in December and it is in Nassau overnight.
Can you let me know some ideas on what to do etc other than beach and snorkel?
Also what temperature to expect 3rd week of December?
Take the boat the cross over to Paradise Island and check out the Atlantis Hotel and its walk thru aquarium! Hope it's still there coz it's been a long time since I last did! 16 years ago! Sad though that the Club Med Paradise Island is no longer Club Med! Hope whoever bought it preserved the beautiful tropical gardens (an little old lady, I chanced upon, walking her little dog, whose house was within the Club Med grounds - she refused to sell her property to Club Med - told me they were brought back from an old expedition to S E Asia which collected tropical plants for a botanical gardens in Florida)!
It will probably be warm weather although there is the possibility of a storm.
You can take a jitney bus down Bay Street to the bridges over the harbor and walk across to Paradise Island. You can walk through the casino at Atlantis and as also suggested go to the aquarium which is very nice.
Last time we were there, a group of us got a taxi to take us around to see the sights - we went to Fort Charlotte, the water tower, Fort Fincastle, and the Queen's Staircase - 66 steps up to the fort. I don't think the Queen actually climbs it. Then he dropped some of the group off at Atlantis, and we went all the way out to Fort Montegu. There is also some shopping along Bay Street - there are some stores which have locally produced arts and crafts.
