My husband and I are bringing our 7 yr old son on his first trip to Boston, we are takeing him to the Aquarium, Museum of Science and the Children's Museum.
Any suggestions on how to get discounted tickets (aside from GoBoston)

Also anything else he would enjoy seeing or doing in the city?? We've visited many times before and love it, we can't wait to show him all the great things Boston has to offer....
Thanks!

When are you going, hOw long are you staying, and what does he/you all like to do?

The CityPASS (http://www.citypass.com/boston) includes the Museum of Science and the Aquarium, as well as entrance to the top of the Prudential building if that's of interest. I haven't used it myself, but people I know were pleased. They went to all five attractions, though, so I don't know whether it would substantially discount seeing just two or three. For both Go Boston and CityPASS you'd have to check whether it was enough of a discount to be worth it.

Other than that, if the weather is good, a Duck tour might be fun, if 1 1/2 hours isn't too long for a 7 year old (one niece loved it, one hated it). The Franklin Park/Stoneham Zoo has discounted rates on Saturdays before noon. If you have a vehicle, Plimouth Plantation/Mayflower is a bit of a drive, but both nieces liked that.

We are going Oct 7-10th...
Thank you for your suggestions, the Duck tour is a great idea, and my husband and I have never done it before, so we'll enjoy it too. We hope the weather is good! If not the museums will be great: )
Thanks

Go to see the USS Constitution ( Old Ironsides) It is a Frigate from the war of 1812 and I believe the oldest ship still in U.S. Navy Commission. A great ship of our History. Your Son will love it.

If you have a AAA card, most museums and attractions give you a discount.

FYI: Old Ironsides was launched in 1797 and is the oldest commissioned warship in the world.

The Children's Museum is free on Fridays after 5pm. It's super busy though because of this but you can still have a good time!

If you have any friends who live in the area they can get you discounted passes at their local library (with their library card). You will need to tell them which day exactly you will go as the tickets are dated. With the library pass, the aquarium is only $8/pp. Sweet deal!

When are you visiting? If the weather is nice go to Castle Island (it's not an island...it's in South Boston close to the convention center and Black Falcon cruise terminal). They have a wonderful playground and you can walk along the water.

The Aquarium is very very popular. Will impress the 7 year old, but is a bit over-rated for adult tastes.

One new feature: They have really upgraded the Children's Musuem area. There is new seating area and an improved walkway around the water channel in front. Working on the tea party Museum but it is not open yet. Do the harbor walk as well.

Have fun !
