We are going to have few days holiday in Marseille. "We" include family members, youngest is child 4y and oldest grandparents 70y.

Which would be nice but not too fine restaurant near harbour for our first night in town?

There are plenty of restaurants in this area but it is not easy to find one that is not too tourist oriented. Here are three addresses that you might have a look:
Etienne, 30, rue de Lorette, 13002
Chez Madi les Galinettes, 135 quai du Port, 13002
La Lucciola, 184 quai du Port

I like the Cafe des Epices -- set a block back from the Old Port. It has an excellent chef, but is not expensive. If the weather is fine, you can sit outside on the square amid olive trees planted in enormous pots (a good place for a child to play). More about Cafe des Epices: http://bit.ly/mmNWXW

Alternatively, as suggested Chez Madi les Galinettes has a very good local reputation (and is on the port itself), though I haven't eaten there personally.
